Bellonahuset (the Bellona building) is one of Norway’s most energy-efficient buildings, classified as Energy Class A. The facade of the building captures solar energy for heating the premises within, and also acts as a sun screen. In addition, the building is equipped with low energy windows and an elevator that generates electricity on its way down. The building also receives electricity from a central energy exchange at Vulkan. The ground floor and the roof feature a bar and restaurant (BAR Vulkan and Lucky Bird).
Bellonahuset has received a number of awards.
